TARGET GRADES:
Students in 4th – 6th grades will benefit most from Fraction Sense. Occasionally, there may be advanced 3rd graders who demonstrate readiness. See FAQs for more information on the ideal candidate.
PARENTAL COMMITMENT:
Because this class is only taught for 75 minutes a week for eight weeks, it is not designed to be a comprehensive introduction to fractions. While it is quite thorough, it is a supplement to students’ primary math curricula. To maximize the full benefit of the camp, parents should ensure that their child attends daily with a readiness to learn and have fun. Parents’ presence is optional but may prove helpful in supporting the students’ understanding.
