TARGET GRADES:

Students in 4th – 6th grades will benefit most from Fraction Sense.  Depending on the goal and the need, 7th and 8th graders who desire to strengthen their foundations and conceptual understanding may find the boot camp useful. Occasionally, there may be advanced 3rd graders who demonstrate readiness.  See FAQs for more information on the ideal candidate.

PARENTAL COMMITMENT:

Because this class is only taught for 90 minutes a day for five days, it is not designed to be a comprehensive introduction to fractions.  While it is quite thorough, it is a supplement to students’ primary math curricula.  To maximize the full benefit of the camp, parents should ensure that their child attends daily with a readiness to learn and have fun. Parents’ presence is optional but may prove helpful in supporting the students’ understanding.
